Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum: Which Plan Fits Your Car?
Each plan builds on the one before it, so the real question is which extras you'd actually notice.

Four plan names on a board can look like a puzzle, but each plan at Balboa Express Carwash is the previous one plus a few extras. That means you don't have to compare four separate lists. You only have to ask what each step adds and whether your car would benefit. Here's the whole ladder, with real prices.
Bronze: the clean-car baseline
Bronze is $12 for the first month, then $23.99 a month. It removes dirt and grime from the paint, glass, plastic trim, wheels, chrome and exhaust tip with a Soft Touch Wash and a Turbo Dry, and it comes with free vacuums.
Who it suits: a commuter whose car sleeps in a garage and mostly needs the dust and road film taken off. If your goal is a car that looks clean on Monday, Bronze does that. It's also a good first step if you're not sure how often you'll come, and the free vacuums keep the inside tidy at no extra cost.
Silver: wax and a better pre-soak
Silver is $16 for the first month, then $30.99, which is $7 more than Bronze. It includes everything in Bronze and adds Sealer Wax, a Duo Tire and Wheel Scrubber, a Double Foaming Pre-Soak and Bubble Bath, and an Undercarriage Wash.
Who it suits: anyone whose car collects heavy grime. The double foaming pre-soak loosens dirt before the wash media touches it, the wheel scrubber goes after brake dust, and the undercarriage wash rinses the underside, which matters if you drive near the coast and your car sees salty air. The sealer wax adds a thin layer of protection that helps water bead off.
Gold: shine and the spot free rinse
Gold is $20 for the first month, then $35.99, which is $5 more than Silver. It adds Tire Shine, Spot Free Rinse, Hot Wax and Triple Foam Protectant to everything in Silver.
Who it suits: people who care how the car looks once it's dry. The Spot Free Rinse uses reverse osmosis water, so droplets dry without mineral dots, which matters most on dark paint and in direct sun. Hot Wax and Triple Foam Protectant add gloss and protection. Tire Shine finishes the sidewalls so the whole car looks cared for, not just the paint. If you park outside, Gold is where the finish starts to look noticeably better.
Platinum, and the Ceramic Seal option
Platinum is $23 for the first month, then $38.99, only $3 more than Gold. It adds Bug Removal, High Pressure Prep, a Free Towel and Full Body Protectant.
Who it suits: highway drivers who collect bugs on the front end, people who park under trees, and anyone who wants the most protection the plans offer. Since it's just $3 above Gold, a lot of people who are weighing the top two end up choosing it. The Free Towel helps with the last-minute wipe of mirrors and door jambs.
Ceramic Seal is a separate finishing step meant for long-lasting shine, gloss and ultra UV protection, which counts for a lot in a city with this much sun. It's included with the Platinum Plus plan, or you can add it for an additional $4 with any single wash. If you want to try it before committing to a higher plan, that single add-on is the easy way to see the difference.
A quick way to choose
Prices step up in small amounts: $7 from Bronze to Silver, $5 from Silver to Gold, and $3 from Gold to Platinum. So the higher you go, the less each extra costs, and if you're torn between two neighbors, the upper one is often the better value for what it adds. The first-month prices of $12, $16, $20 and $23 let you try a plan before settling into the regular rate, and with no long-term contract, trying one carries very little risk.
- Garaged car, light use: Bronze.
- Daily driver that gets dirty, or lives near the coast: Silver.
- Dark paint, or parked outside under the sun: Gold.
- Long highway miles, trees overhead, or you want the most protection: Platinum.
Whichever plan you pick, every one is unlimited, includes free vacuums and the Free Rapid Air System, and comes with no long-term contract. You can cancel any time. A Fast Pass tag on the lower left of your windshield opens the gate, and billing is automatic each month.
